Running for a purpose for Team Xander in what I call my first “REAL” trail race today!
Brazos Bend 50 (25K) was a great first 25K experience. It was a great race with snakes, gators, thunder, lightning, high winds, pouring rain, hail, muddy wet trails and the people I call family.
The best part of the race was seeing each one of our Golden Triangle Strutters on the course as we made our loops. High fives and hand tags cheering everyone on as we passed the other.
My right foot gave me a little trouble towards the last couple miles but Anthony Mireles was there to help give me that extra little push I needed to finish strong! Thank you Sir! Out of all the races I’ve done with our run group, this one was my favorite one to date because it made me realize what an amazing run group we have in our golden triangle area and I couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of this group or to call them family! You all did an amazing job today! Looking forward to Brazos Bend 100 in December!
